How We Are Paid

We provide you with an initial consultation, free of charge. This helps us to understand your financial objectives and will confirm how we can support you in working towards these.

Our Investment Services and Costs

We provide you with an initial consultation, free of charge. This helps us to understand your financial objectives and will confirm how we can support you in working towards these. We will also discuss the cost, and levels, of our services both initially and throughout our relationship with you.

We charge our services by way of a fee. These fees are based on a percentage of the amount you invest.

Financial Review and Recommendation

This can be a continuation from the initial discussion, where agreed, or a further appointment. This process covers the:

gathering of information about your existing financial arrangements and full personal circumstances;
understanding of your investment knowledge, attitude and tolerance towards investment risk;
recommendation of an asset allocation model that matches your risk profile and the subsequent assessment and suitability of any existing holdings;
preparation of our recommendations to you;
arranging a second appointment to explain and discuss our recommendations in detail.

Our charge for this service is a fixed fee of £500 payable on provision of the report containing our recommendations to you. This fee will be waived wholly or in part should you decide to implement any of our recommendations.

Defined Benefit Pension Review and Recommendation

Where we offer a review of a defined benefit pension, this follows the same process as any other financial review and recommendation outlined above.

Our charge for this service is a fixed fee of £750 payable on provision of the report containing our recommendations to you.

Should business proceed following our recommendations, this fee will not be waived and will be in addition to the fees charged for policy arrangement and implementation.

Policy Arrangement & Implementation

Should you instruct us to proceed with any of our recommendations we will act for you as follows:

handle all fund and policy administration on your behalf;
provide regular updates to keep you informed of progress;
ensure all your documents are issued in line with your expectations;
provide confirmation of all actions taken on your behalf in writing.

Policy Arrangement & Implementation – Lump Sums or Transfers

Amount to be invested initially or additional to total existing portfolio Fee as % of sum invested
Up to £50,000 Minimum fee £1,500
Excess above £50,000 to £250,000 3.0%
Excess above £250,000 to £500,000 2.0%
Excess above £500,000 to £1,000,000 1.5%
Excess above £1,000,000 1.0%

For example: Pension, Unit Trust or Investment Bond

Our charge for this service is based on a percentage of the amount you invest and/or transfer. The charges are applied as follows, subject to a minimum of £1,500 depending on the amount to be invested, or previously invested, up to an initial amount of £50,000.

Payment can either be taken from your investment upon receipt by the policy provider or paid directly by you, by a personal cheque.

Example 1: if you invested £25,000 we would receive £1,500 by a personal cheque or by a deduction from the arranged product. Financial review and recommendation fee of £500 waived.
Example 2: if you invested £75,000 we would receive £2,250 by a personal cheque or by a deduction from the arranged product. Financial review and recommendation fee of £500 waived.
Example 3: if you invested £275,000 we would receive £8,000 by a personal cheque or by a deduction from the arranged product. This is made up of a fee of 3% of £250,000 plus 2% of the remaining £25,000. Financial review and recommendation fee of £500 waived.
Example 4: for a defined benefit pension transfer, if you transferred £200,000 we would receive £6,750 by a personal cheque or by a deduction from the arranged product. This is made up of a fee of 3% of £200,000 plus a fee of £750 for the initial review and recommendation.

Policy Arrangement & Implementation – Regular Premiums or Investments

Our charge for implementing a regular premium savings or investment plan is 10% of the first year’s premium, subject to a minimum total fee of £500*.

You can pay this directly on commencement of the policy, by personal cheque.

Example 1: if your monthly contribution is £50 our implementation fee would be £60. As this less than the minimum fee of £500, we would charge you £440 as the balance therefore the total fee would be £500.
Example 2: if your monthly contribution is £500 our implementation fee would be £600. As this exceeds the minimum fee no other charges would be applied.

*The minimum fee for regular premium contracts may be reduced or waived where the client’s circumstances dictate it. For example where the client is simultaneously arranging lump sum investments, or has an existing investment portfolio with Warde Graham the minimum fee could be waived:

Example 3: if your monthly contribution is £100 our implementation fee would be £120. Although less than our standard minimum fee of £500, as you are simultaneously placing a new investment on which our standard terms apply, the additional £380 may be waived.
